At Double "C" Texas Walkers we raise and naturally start each horse under saddle, ...whether a horse is destined for the show ring, trail, or versatility, this training enables our horses to succeed throughout their lifetimes. From our imprinting at birth through extensive ground training in the round pen, our methods of training opens communications with these horses to foster an attitude of cooperation. We place strong emphasis on ground manners and handling so that our horses are comfortable with people while remaining respectful. We then look to match them with just the right buyer to become their equine companions for life.
Folks are constantly amazed at the friendly nature and calm
dispositions exhibited by all of our horses. In
our environment young horses respond with trust, love and respect
for us as well as all people. This foundation makes all their
future training almost effortless.
We are cautious to sell them only to owners that will value
the trust they have been raised with. We encourage all
prospective buyers to spend a day with us before taking home one
of our horses, to learn the cues and aids and help you understand
how each horse has been trained and exactly what you can expect.

"P.T." is one fine trail and show horse! Shown successfully in Kentucky where the competition is fierce. His EXACT HEIGHT: 14.2- 1/2. He is a seven year old - absolutely amazing horse! He is so smooth keg shod or bare foot. When you hear about the Cadillac ride, this horse will show you what it is. One of the smoothest rides I have ever rode. P.T. would be great for anyone with health issues that needs a Very Smooth Ride! He is patient, affectionate, easy moving, so easy to do all things with - clip, shoe, saddle, bridle, bathe, load, and STANDS TOTALLY STILL TO MOUNT!! He will wait for you to cue him to move.
P.T. can be tied in the crossties.....to a fence, tree, trailer and he will wait patiently. You can stop on a ride and have a conversation with someone, and he will just stand there and wait. In the pasture he is very gentle, easy going. He does not bother the other horses and if they try to be aggressive....he will walk away. He does not hesitate to leave the stables or the other horses! On a trail ride, he will go off alone or with a group. He will ride front, middle, back......or lag behind - with no problems.
